Aims and scope
Bulletin of Regional Natural History (BORNH), formerly
Bollettino della Società dei Naturalisti in Napoli, is a peer-reviewed, open
access journal published by the Società dei Naturalisti in Napoli. The journal
promotes high-quality research in environmental, natural and earth sciences,
with particular emphasis on studies conducted at local and regional scales.
BORNH aims to highlight the scientific relevance of
territorial research, fostering knowledge on biodiversity, ecosystem evolution
and conservation practices. By focusing on regional contexts, the journal
contributes to the advancement of evidence-based conservation policies and
sustainable environmental management.
The journal publishes original research articles,
reviews, commentaries, reasoned and annotated checklists, and technical papers
addressing methodological innovations and their practical applications.
Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
zoology, botany, geology, mineralogy, palaeontology, ecology, systematics and
phylogenetics, ethology, developmental biology, conservation biology,
parasitology, geomorphology, chemistry, and naturalistic museology.
Contributions in the history and philosophy of natural
sciences are also welcome.
BORNH is indexed in DOAJ and adheres to recognized
international standards of scholarly publishing.
