Quale ruolo hanno avuto piante, funghi e sostanze naturali nella storia della medicina, nelle pratiche rituali e nell’esplorazione dell’esperienza umana?
📅 Giovedì 15 ottobre 2026, dalle 09:30 alle 12:30, la Società dei Naturalisti in Napoli (@societa_naturalisti_napoli) ospiterà un simposio dedicato alla relazione tra natura, cultura, cura e stati della mente, dall’antichità alla ricerca contemporanea.
L’evento ha il patrocinio dell'universitá telematica San Raffaele (@uniroma5) ed è realizzato in collaborazione con la 7ª edizione della European Conference on Brain Stimulation in Mental Health. Riunirà studiosi provenienti da ambiti diversi — storia, antropologia, botanica, farmacologia e neuroscienze — per esplorare l’uso e il significato di piante, funghi e sostanze psicoattive attraverso epoche e culture differenti.
Un’occasione di confronto aperta a soci, studenti, ricercatori, docenti, appassionati di natura e a chiunque sia curioso di approfondire questi temi.

🌿🍄 Plants, fungi and natural preparations in the history of healing and mental stimulation
What roles have plants, fungi and natural substances played in the history of medicine, ritual practices and the exploration of human experience?
On Thursday, 15 October 2026, from 09:30 to 12:30, the Società dei Naturalisti in Napoli (@societa_naturalisti_napoli) will host a symposium exploring the relationship between nature, culture, healing and states of mind, from antiquity to contemporary research.
The event is supported by the patronage of the San Raffaele Roma University (@uniroma5) and has been organized in collaboration with the 7th edition of the European Conference on Brain Stimulation in Mental Health. It will bring together scholars from history, anthropology, botany, pharmacology and neuroscience to examine psychoactive plants, fungi and natural substances across different periods and cultures.
The event is open to members, students, researchers, academics, nature enthusiasts and anyone interested in these topics.
